The World Pull-Up Organization has announced two rule changes regarding the Pull-Up Repetitions on July 9, 2019. The new rules will be effective immediately.
From now on, the Chief Referee will give the verbal command ‘Pull’ only once, to signal the start of the competitive attempt. After that, it is the competitor’s responsibility to adopt the acceptable Down Position between repetitions (= to visibly fully extend and lock his/her elbow joints). Just like before, if the competitor fails to adopt the acceptable Down Position between repetition attempts, the Chief Referee will give the verbal command ‘Hands’.
The second rule change is the abandonment of the Motion Limiter. It will no longer be used in our competitions.
In addition to these two rule changes, a new rule has been introduced. It will be forbidden to raise one’s toe(s) above the waistline during the competitive attempt.
